Action of Medicine:
This remedy is indicated when there is a rapid oedematous swelling of a part that is attended with stinging pains, a bruised sensation, burning and redness; also when there is serous effusion of an inflammatory origin.
Jealous, suspicious, awkward, hysterical women especially widows with ailments from rage, vexation, bad news, jealousy.
Adapted to the strumous constitution; glands enlarged, indurated.
Irritable; nervous; fidgety; hard to please. Weeping disposition; cannot help crying; discouraged, and despondent.
Burning, stinging, sore pains. Better by cold water. Pains migrating.
Oedematous puffiness, swellings local or general, without thirst, but fever with thirst – 3 p.m.
Associated strangury or urinary complaints.
Incontinence of urine, with great irritation of the parts; can scarcely retain the urine a moment, and when passed scalds severely; frequent, painful, scanty, and bloody urine.
Aggravation After sleeping, closed, especially warmed and heated rooms are intolerable; from getting wet, but better from washing or moistening the part in cold water.
Amelioration Open air; cold water or cold bathing; uncovering; pains by coughing, walking or changing position; when sitting erect.
